You know those people who house-sit or dog-sit for everyone all the time? I feel like I should be one of those people but I’m not. On the rare occasion that I did house-sit, I really enjoyed it. In the era where I cried about love all the time, my friend Kiki and her family went to Hawaii for a week and asked if I would stay in their house while they were gone. I gladly obliged.

In the foyer, a chandelier hung overhead with a staircase leading to the second story with all the bedrooms. I was staying in the son’s room. For some reason, he had two twin beds on either side of his room. I took my stuff upstairs and found a care package of toiletries on the bathroom counter. That’s sweet, I thought. I had never seen a deliverance before and wasn’t sure if I even believed in demons. I don’t know why I did what I’m about to tell you other than I knew Kiki’s parents’ marriage was probably in trouble and the family was in a state of unrest. I purposefully went into every bedroom and said out loud, “Any spirit in here that is not of God, I command you to leave in the name of Jesus.” I got louder with each new room I cleansed.
